Field Update: Privacy Restored in Wayne, PA

Sometimes the landscape changes in ways you didn’t plan for. In this case, our client in Wayne, PA woke up to find their neighbor had built an upper deck overlooking their backyard and pool. Suddenly, the sense of privacy they had enjoyed was gone.

That’s where our Green Giant arborvitae come in.

We installed seven trees in the 12–14 foot range—already tall enough to provide instant screening, and vigorous growers that will continue to fill in and create a solid wall of green. These are field-grown, balled and burlapped trees, which means they come with strong root systems and establish quickly when planted correctly.

Green Giants are one of the fastest-growing privacy trees available, often adding 3 feet of height per year once established. At maturity, they can reach 40–50 feet tall, but even in the 12–14 foot range, they make an immediate difference. We also installed an irrigation system to make sure these large trees get the deep weekly soaking they need during the growing season. Consistent watering in the first few years is what helps them thrive for decades to come.

By the end of the day, the view from the pool was transformed. Where there was once an exposed fence line, there is now a living privacy screen. The neighbors can enjoy their deck, and our client can enjoy their backyard again without feeling overlooked.
