Green Giant Arborvitae is the fastest growing and most popular evergreen tree for a variety of landscaping purposes. Its lush, soft foliage stays deep green year round, making it a perfect option for a natural privacy barrier. But what really sets Green Giants apart is their vigorous growth - often 3 or more feet in a year. Property lines, pool sides, patios and outbuildings are screened in style with an elegant wall of thriving green boughs in no time. We offer a variety of sizes to meet any need.
Green Giant Trees are the ideal privacy tree owing to their fast growth and year-round beauty. Our green Giants can be purchased at a range of sizes to fit any yard, timeframe, and budget. Need a high wall of beautiful foliage overnight? We offer mature trees as tall as 18 at shipping time. Looking for privacy in a tighter yard space? Young trees are easier to move and less expensive, but will reach impressive size in a few short growing seasons. Particularly when planted young, green giants can quickly achieve better-than-fence privacy at a fraction of the cost.
While some fencing options are affordable, more attractive fences get expensive quickly, and even quality fences always seem to want further beautification with plants, which can drive up costs further. Why not forego the fence altogether in favor of a living, growing home for birds? Green Giant Arborvitae can be planted in converging rows or even trimmed like a hedge to achieve privacy without compromising beauty.

Green Giant Arborvitae are simple to plant, and once established, are nearly maintenance free. They tolerate a range of soil types and moisture levels, and typically do not require fertilization.
High winds can damage siding, windows, and other plants in your garden. Green giants planted in rows or as a hedge slow wind and block debris in a storm and can reduce damage to your property.
If blocking views from neighboring areas is the main goal, Green Giants are without equal. They can be planted close in a single row so the branches grow into each other to create a lush green wall.
For a more relaxed look, and better sound dampening, staggered rows work great. This is a better option for larger spaces.
Apart from being unrivaled privacy trees, Green Giants are celebrated for their beauty and landscaping versatility. Their deep green color offers contrast to flowering trees and lighter greens, making them ideal as backdrops or accent trees. Many gardeners choose to plant them alone or as a centerpiece to a curated garden.
Dig a hole about 3x the size of the root ball of the tree, and just as deep. It’s best to leave the top of the root ball slightly above ground level and pile your soil or mulch up to cover it. This will help to keep water from pooling around the roots as the tree settles. Green giant roots do not do well in soggy soil, so make sure drainage is adequate. When you finish planting, spray the roots and surrounding soil gently with a hose for 20 seconds.
Usually Green Giants do not require fertilizer, but if you’d like, you can give them a boost once or twice a year with a well-balanced, slow release fertilizer in spring and fall.
